Busan BEXCO Business Trip Guide: What You Need to Know
Heading to Busan for a conference, trade show, or meeting at BEXCO? Here’s the practical rundown. I live about 10 minutes away in Haeundae and have been out here more times than I care to count — expos, events, the occasional post-conference Spaland recovery session. This covers transport from the airport, where to stay, where to eat, and how to squeeze something worthwhile out of whatever free time you have around Centum City.
BEXCO Quick Info
| Full Name | Busan Exhibition & Convention Center (부산전시컨벤션센터) |
| Address | 55 APEC-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan (부산 해운대구 APEC로 55) |
| Nearest Subway | Centum City Station (센텀시티역), Line 2, Exit 1 |
| From Gimhae Airport | Subway ~45 min / Taxi ~25 min / Limousine Bus ~50 min |
| Buildings | Exhibition Center 1 (original) + Exhibition Center 2 (newer, connected by skybridge) |
| Official Site | bexco.co.kr |
Important: BEXCO has two separate buildings. Exhibition Center 1 is the original; Exhibition Center 2 is the newer one across the street. They’re connected by a skybridge on the upper floors — but at ground level, completely different entrances. Double-check which building your event is in before you get in a taxi. Getting it wrong means a 10-minute walk with luggage. Not ideal.
Getting to BEXCO on Your Busan Business Trip
From Gimhae International Airport
Three options. Which one makes sense depends entirely on your luggage situation and how tired you already are.
Option 1: Subway (~45 min, ₩2,000 / ~$1.50)
Take the Busan-Gimhae Light Rail from the airport to Sasang Station (사상역). Transfer to Line 2 (green line, direction: Jangsan) and ride to Centum City Station (센텀시티역). Exit 1 — BEXCO Exhibition Center 2 is right there. Cheap and reliable. That said, dragging a full-size suitcase through transfers during rush hour is genuinely miserable.
Option 2: Airport Limousine Bus (~50 min, ₩7,000 / ~$5)
The Busan airport limousine bus is the most comfortable option for the price. Line 2 stops at Bujeon and Seomyeon before heading to BEXCO — seats are guaranteed and there’s luggage space underneath. Departs from the international terminal every 30–40 minutes. Fares and schedules are as of late 2025, so worth confirming before you travel.
Option 3: Taxi (~25 min, ₩25,000–35,000 / ~$18–25)
Easiest door-to-door option. At the airport taxi stand, join the queue and take a regular taxi — not the black deluxe ones unless your company is paying well. Tell the driver: “벡스코 가주세요” (BEXCO ga-ju-se-yo). Most drivers know exactly where it is.
From Seoul (KTX)
Take the KTX to Busan Station (~2.5 hours). From there, Line 1 to Seomyeon, transfer to Line 2, get off at Centum City Station (~40 min total). Or grab a taxi for ₩15,000–20,000 (~$11–15, about 30 minutes).
Where to Stay Near BEXCO
Centum City has hotels at every price point. Here’s what I’d actually recommend — based on what tends to work for people coming in for events.
If the company’s paying: Park Hyatt Busan
About 1.5 km from BEXCO — a short taxi ride or a 15-minute walk. Overlooks the marina and Gwangan Bridge. Beautiful rooms; the lobby bar is genuinely good for after-hours client meetings. Rates typically run ₩300,000–500,000+ (~$220–370) per night, though prices shift with demand. It’s in Marine City rather than right next to BEXCO, so factor in the daily commute.
Best value near BEXCO: Haeundae Centum Hotel
The largest hotel in the Centum City area and literally across the street from BEXCO. The default pick for conference attendees — no-nonsense rooms, decent breakfast, and you can walk to your event in 3 minutes. Rooms run around ₩80,000–150,000 (~$60–110) as of late 2025. Not fancy. But when location is everything, it does the job.
Budget option: Centum Premier Hotel
In the same building complex as Centum Business Hotel and Centum Victoria Hotel. Basic but clean, with a gym and coin laundry. Starts around ₩50,000–80,000 (~$37–60). One warning: check-in can be confusing because several hotels share the same building — look for the specific reception desk on the 3rd floor. Close enough to BEXCO that you can walk there in under 5 minutes.
Where to Eat for Business Meals
Korean business culture runs on eating together. Centum City has solid options for impressing clients or feeding your team without overthinking it. Here’s what I’d pick depending on the situation.
Korean BBQ (접대 classic): For a proper 고기집 (gogi-jip, meat restaurant) experience near BEXCO, head to the restaurants along Centum City’s back streets. Korean BBQ is the default business dinner move in Korea. Budget ₩25,000–40,000 per person (~$18–30). A few spots near Centum City Station serve excellent 한우 (hanu, Korean beef) if you want to go all out — expect ₩60,000+ per person for premium cuts.
Seafood (해산물): Busan is a port city, so raw fish is a power move here. 횟집 (hoe-jip, raw fish restaurants) are scattered around the area. A 회 (hoe, raw fish) platter for 2–3 people starts around ₩50,000–80,000. Your Korean counterparts will appreciate that you chose local seafood over the hotel restaurant.
Hotel dining / Western: The restaurants inside Shinsegae Centum City — the world’s largest department store, right next to BEXCO — have a solid food court in the basement and upscale Korean/Japanese restaurants on the upper floors. Safe, easy, and there’s something for everyone.
Quick solo lunch: Honestly, the Shinsegae basement food hall is where I end up most of the time when I’m in the area. Good 김밥 (gimbap, Korean rice rolls), noodles, and set meals for ₩8,000–15,000 (~$6–11) as of late 2025. Fast, clean, and no Korean language skills needed — just point at the display.
Navigating Centum City
Centum City isn’t just BEXCO — it’s a full commercial district. Here’s what’s within walking distance that actually matters for business travelers:
- Shinsegae Centum City: 2-minute walk from BEXCO. Department store, restaurants, and Spaland (a massive jjimjilbang / Korean spa on the top floors — more on this below).
- Convenience stores: GS25 and CU are on nearly every block. Grab water, phone chargers, snacks. They also have ATMs that accept international cards.
- Cafes for meetings: Starbucks, Ediya, and Paik’s Coffee are along the main streets near Centum City Station. If you need a quiet spot for a laptop session between events, the Starbucks near Exit 3 usually has seats in the afternoon.
- Printing / office supplies: There’s an Alpha stationery shop inside Shinsegae, and several copy shops (복사집, boksa-jip) within a 5-minute walk for last-minute print jobs.
Pro Tips for Your Visit
Wi-Fi and connectivity
BEXCO has free Wi-Fi inside the convention halls — but honestly, don’t count on it for anything critical during a large event. It gets genuinely unreliable when thousands of attendees are all connected at once, and it tends to drop at exactly the wrong moment. Pick up a pocket Wi-Fi or eSIM at Gimhae Airport arrivals instead; Korean telecom booths are right past customs. An eSIM data plan runs about ₩20,000–35,000 (~$15–25) for 5–10 days of unlimited data as of late 2025.
Taxis
Download Kakao T (카카오 T) — Korea’s Uber equivalent, and it works much better than hailing on the street. You can set pickup and drop-off in English and pay by card through the app. During conferences, the taxi line outside BEXCO gets long. Kakao T lets you skip it. One catch: you’ll need a Korean phone number to register. If you don’t have one, ask your hotel front desk to call a taxi for you.
Got a free evening? Here’s what to do
If you’ve got 2–3 hours after your event wraps up:
- Spaland at Shinsegae (₩18,000–22,000 / ~$13–16 as of late 2025): A massive Korean spa right next to BEXCO. Bring your swimsuit — actually, no. Everyone gets a spa uniform. Multiple themed saunas, hot baths, and relaxation rooms. Best way to decompress after a long day in conference chairs. Open until around 10 PM — worth confirming current hours before you head over.
- Haeundae Beach: 10-minute taxi or one subway stop from Centum City Station to Haeundae Station. Even if you’re not swimming, the evening boardwalk walk is worth it. Haeundae has plenty to explore beyond the sand.
- Gwangan Bridge night view: From the Bay 101 area near Marine City (free — just walk around), you get one of the best views of the lit-up Gwangan Bridge at night. Grab a coffee from one of the waterfront cafes and sit with it for a bit.

A Busan BEXCO business trip is one of the better work trips you can take in Asia. The convention center is well-organized, the subway gets you everywhere, and you’re 10 minutes from the beach when the day is done. Book something within walking distance, double-check which building your event is in, and hit Spaland when your back gives out from the conference chairs.
